Abstract
We apply tilted magnetic fields to ballistic electrons
channelled by a microscopic magnetic gradient and show that the
resonances in both the longitudinal and the Hall resistance are
essentially a manifestation of magnetic edge states. Our data
also display fingerprints of magnetisation reversal occurring
by coherent rotation. A semiclassical picture of magnetic edge
state transport is presented. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
