Abstract
Combining polymeric silver alkynyl clusters with the Wells-Dawson polyoxometalate [P(2)W(18)O(62)](6) has led to the formation of the first chain-like intercluster compounds {[Ag(14)(C=CtBu)(8)(C(3)H(7)NO)(10)]-[Ag(12)(C=CtBu)(6)Cl(C(3)H(7)NO)(10 )]H[P(2)W(18)O(62)](2)}(n) (1) and {[Ag(16)-C=CtBu)(11)(CH(3)CN)(6)][P(2)W(18)O(62)]}(2)[Ag(14)(C=CtBu)(12) (CH(3)CN)(2)] (2). Both compounds contain large, yet-unknown silver alkynyl clusters as cationic building blocks which are linked to the polyanions by direct silver-oxygen contacts, i.e. by ligand-free interfaces.
