Abstract
Thioesters can be O-borylated using optically active chloro-2,5-diphenylborolane to produce chiral boron enolates which show complete reagent control in aldol additions to chiral α-amino aldehydes.
Boron enolates of the type 2 add to chiral α-amino aldehydes with essentially complete reagent control to form aldol adducts.
