Abstract
PHYS 145 – Both the preparation of clean, well characterized oxide films as well as the understanding of nucleation and growth of metal nanoclusters are the basis for studies of chemical reactions which may have relevance in heterogeneous catalysis on such systems at the atomic scale. We will present recent examples from our group on Au and Pd nanoparticles on alumina, silica and magnesia.
