Abstract
The identification of the two molybdenum sub-oxides, Mo18O52 and Mo8O23, derived from MoO3 by crystallographic shearing (CS), by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The CS structure produces well-ordered satellite spots in electron diffraction pattern and can be directly imaged by high-resolution TEM is demonstrated. The results are compared with other two molybdenum sub-oxides, Mo5O14 and Mo4O11, without CS structure.
