Abstract
The emersion of electrodes and their subsequent transfer into a UHV chamber for detailed studies of surface composition and surface structure have been widely used in surface electrochemistry. We will demonstrate the combined application of LEED and RHEED techniques for the structural study of the adsorbate on the emersed electrodes. We specifically address some recent results from the study of partially ordered adlayers and the epitaxial growth of oxide on the electrode surfaces.
