Abstract
VHE gamma-ray production is discussed for the non-blazar sources M87 and Cen A. We show that efficient centrifugal particle acceleration close to the central supermassive and Inverse Compton up-scattering of Comptonized disk photons by accelerated electrons could account for the observed VHE characteristics. We discuss the implications for Cen A as a possible UHE cosmic-ray source.
