要旨
This is based on an excerpt from Hammond, J (2010), The grammar of nouns and verbs in Whitesands, a language of Southern Vanuatu. The nominalisation process in Whitesands has syntactic features of both NPs and VPs. In particular case assignment by derived nouns differs from that of a 'regular' noun. This talk shows that this can be formalised by having a construction that allows for VPs to exist within a NP.
