要旨
The paradigm of a tranquil tropics is revisited. A review of the recent literature and evidence from comprehensive modeling using idealized configurations suggest the potential for large changes in tropical climate as a function of Earth's temperature and forcing. The modeling studies illustrate how the character and sensitivity of tropical circulations are strongly influenced by the chosen representation of deep moist convection.
