Abstract
In this work, iron ion spectra - especially of the charge state Fe V - were produced
with the electron beam trap FLASH EBIT at the Max Planck Institut für Kernphysik
(MPIK), and investigated with two different spectrometers which are sensitive in two
different ranges of ultraviolet (UV) radiation. For this purpose, first the detector of the
spectrometer which is sensitive in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) range was optimized so
that it is now automatically moving into the respective focal position, to record focused
and sharp spectra data.
A series of iron ion spectra were recorded at various electron beam energies, one of
which at 2040 eV was discussed in detail. This was followed by an identification of several
oxygen and carbon lines of charge states O III - O V and C III - C IV, as well as
identification of desired iron lines of charge states Fe II, Fe III, and Fe V.
