Abstract
Sulfated zirconia (SZ) and Mn-promoted SZ (MnSZ) were aged 6-7 months under three different conditions: in (i) a laboratory cupboard, (ii) air saturated with water vapor at 313 K ("tropical"), and dry Ar atmosphere (glovebox). Samples were investigated by BET, XRD, DRIFTS, and n-butane isomerization. From the same parent compound samples were generated that differed in phase composition (SZ), Mn oxidation state (MnSZ), and water and OH content.
