Zusammenfassung: The Standard Model (SM) of particle physics could be an effective quantum field theory (QFT) valid up to the Planck scale. In this thesis we assume that this scenario is true, and investigate the remnant of boundary conditions on the Higgs quartic coupling left by Planck scale physics. We will first argue that the SM Higgs might not suffer from a hierarchy problem if the Planck scale physics consists of a new physical concept which is non-field theoretic. The Higgs sector will then be analyzed, both from experimental searches and theoretical constraints. Necessary QFT mathematical tools such as renormalization group equation (RGE) will be introduced in order to investigate the running of the Higgs quartic coupling from Planck scale to the electroweak scale. We will then impose various physically motivated boundary conditions on the Higgs quartic coupling, and investigate their Higgs mass prediction. Proper matching of the Higgs quartic coupling to the Higgs mass will be applied. The experimental error and theoretical uncertainties will be analyzed for our Higgs mass prediction due to Planck scale boundary conditions. Prospects of the LHC experiment to differentiate different boundary conditions will be discussed and subsequently the validity of the SM up to the Planck scale will be analyzed.
