Abstract:
Relative predissociation rates of OH (A 2Σ+,v′=3) have been determined for N′ up to 17 by simultaneously measuring laser-induced fluorescence excitation and cavity ring down absorption in the same experimental setup. The results are in overall agreement with calculated predissociation rates by Yarkony [J. Chem. Phys. 97, 1838 (1992)], but show a stronger increase of the predissociation rate with increasing N. The obtained values for the quantum yield can be used in the application of the laser-induced predissociative fluorescence detection technique in combustion diagnostics.
