Abstract:
We investigated the resonant Rayleigh scattering in a two-dimensional electron system (2DES) and developed a differential technique for obtaining high-quality RRS spectra. Oscillations of the RRS scattering efficiency are observed. The oscillations are explained in terms of redistribution of electron spins within two spin subbands of the zero Landau level. The RRS serves as an effective probe of the electron spin polarization in the ground state of 2DES.
